Consulting Services
Consulting services are available for technical problem-solving, root cause failure analysis investigations, and the development of evidence-based corrective actions.
Emphasis is placed on systematic investigation and clear communication of findings to support informed decision-making.
Services also include Design of Experiments (DOE) and the development of custom testing protocols where standardized methods do not exist or are not applicable to the issue at hand.
In failure investigations, typical questions addressed include:
- What caused the failure?
- Where did the failure initiate?
- How did the failure occur?
- When did the failure begin?
- Why did the failure happen?
Engagement may be appropriate when:
- Physical evidence is present, such as debris, contamination, corrosion, or discoloration
- Field reports of unexpected product behavior or in-service failure
- An independent failure analysis is necessary to support alternative dispute resolution (ADR) among parties
- There is uncertainty or disagreement regarding results or interpretations

Consulting Engagement Process
Each inquiry is reviewed by a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), beginning with a no- cost consultation to gather background information, clarify objectives, and determine whether the request falls within the consulting scope.
If appropriate, a detailed quote or proposal is provided at no cost. If the request is outside scope, a referral to a more suitable resource may be offered—also at no cost.
If the quote or proposal is accepted, a licensed PE conducts the consultation, investigation, and any associated testing or analysis, as appropriate to the matter.
Upon completion, a licensed PE prepares independent conclusions and/or recommendations, which may include:
- Test results, data, and technical analysis
- Interpretive findings or professional opinions
- Supporting images or documentation
- Reputable references, where applicable
Results can be delivered via:
- Formal written report with passcode verification for authenticity (available in hardcopy or PDF)
- Consultation by phone, email, or video conference
- On-site consultation or presentation, as needed
Strict Confidentiality
Prefer to limit access to proprietary information? This practice is structured to support strict confidentiality. All communications, client names, company names, and sensitive documents can be managed by a single consultant—minimizing internal exposure. Upon request, files such as data, images, notes, results, and reports may be retained in a single hardcopy or on a designated external drive, to be securely destroyed on a client- specified date.
